Scenarios as stories of endings and beginnings in ‘Hortus’ at Erasmus House

shiftN’s Philippe Vandenbroeck was invited as lecturer to a literary salon revolving around 21st century scenarios written by Portuguese artist Patricia Portela. Meanwhile Christoph De Boeck transposes the microclimatic conditions in the philosophical garden of the Erasmus House in Anderlecht into sound by means of algorithms like those used by investors in financial markets. Thus, in Hortus, birdsong and other sounds are remapped according to what seems most profitable at that split second.
